Heather Szymanski
Heather Szymanski is a Comprehensive Certified Balanced Body Pilates Teacher and a National Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Method Alliance. A professional flutist of 27 years, she brings a musician's ear for breath, timing, and precision to every session on the mat and apparatus.
Heather discovered Mat Pilates in 2010 and connected instantly to the union of mind and body it offered, along with the strength and flexibility it built. By 2017 she was working across the full apparatus, including the Reformer, Chair, Tower, Cadillac, and Barrel, and what began as a personal practice grew into a calling. Her training includes more than 800 hours of coursework, workshops, observation, and hands-on teaching, a comprehensive certification from Balanced Body, and a mentorship with Marion Cooper-Farrell at Mind-Body Connection, along with close guidance from Master Balanced Body Instructors Laura Pennock and Nancy Sanchez.
As a Pilates Teacher, Heather is known for her attention to detail, her emphasis on proper form and alignment, and her ability to create challenging yet accessible workouts. She offers a warm, fun and welcoming environment where clients of all ages and fitness levels can discover the numerous benefits of Pilates. At Washington Wellness, Heather teaches on Reformer, Tower, Chair, and Mat. She is also a Pilates teacher at Mind-Body Connection in New Milford and teaches Mat Pilates at Rumsey Hall School, where her son attends school.
